PAULDING — Authorities in Paulding County are on the lookout for what they believe could be a large cat like a mountain lion or bobcat.
According to Paulding County Sheriff Jason K. Landers, information about such a large cat being seen running north of the intersection of Paulding County roads 1151 and 108 on the east side of the road has been reported. That location is in Brown Township.
Sounds heard by a local resident near that location are said to sound like a cat crying but not just a normal cat.
“The animal was described as 40 to 50 pounds, approximately knee-high, a long body and the color of a bale of straw,” stated Landers in a news release. “The description could be that of a bobcat or mountain lion. I am sending this… to inform the residents of this area what was reported. We have not had any reports of livestock being killed or property damage. However, residents might pay attention outside, especially when small children are playing outdoors.”

The hunt for British Big Cats attracts far more newspaper column-inches than any other cryptozoological subject. There are so many of them now that we feel that they should be archived by us in some way, so we should have a go at publishing a regular round-up of the stories as they come in.
