John Griffin and his neighbours said they were horrified to see Bambi’s corpse stripped to the bone.
There have been several sightings of a big cat in Sussex in recent weeks.
And locals believe the beast is behind the killing.
John, from Billingshurst, West Sussex, said: "The remains had been stripped of all flesh, and I don't know of any native predator that could do such a thorough job.
"The carcass was completely bare. I don't know what could've stripped it so quickly.
"My son's friend said he'd seen two animals run across the road in front of him that looked like wild cats, almost panther size."
