Back in November I was sitting in the stand when shortly after first light I heard a cat comin UNGLUED! Thought maybe two cats were fighting over breakfast so payed it no mind. The following weekend while traveling to my stand I caught the odor. Checked it out and found the biggest male bobcat I've ever seen dead with his junk eatin off. Seen it before when a coyote gets ahold of a fox first hand back in Indiana! Hard to believe there could be a bobcat bigger than him, but God I sure hope so.

This news report from Nebraska is quite an interesting one. According to a list of the mammals of Nebraska prepared by The Mammal Society the following felids are found in the state:

Mountain lion, Felis concolor, extirpated, (Possible)

Bobcat, Lynx rufus, uncommon, statewide, most abundant in areas with broken terrain which provides cover

The note reading 'possible' suggests that this sighting is not the only one in recent times, although the fact that the description is so vague it could be either "a report of a bobcat or mountain lion" is not encouraging. It is also interesting that no-one speculated that it could have been a lynx...
