UK SIGHTINGS: Big cat sightings expected to hit a high in January

BIG cat sightings are expected to hit a high next month as prey becomes scarce when temperatures plummet.
Gloucestershire big cat tracker Frank Tunbridge recorded 40 sightings in the county in 2012 – 14 of them in January.
He believes the big cats are out there – and will be desperate for food next month.
"The smaller prey sources of food are not as great as they are when the weather warms up, and so the animals have to come further out of their territories to find food," said Mr Tunbridge.
