ARTICLE: On the trail of pumas in Chile’s wild south

No one saw the actual killing but the circumstantial evidence was compelling. It was a family tragedy, a case of infanticide. And suspicion fell squarely on the babysitter.

Our guide Roberto told us the story as we sat on the ridge above the lake waiting for the puma to re-emerge. Behind us thunderheads built round the spectacular massif of Torres del Paine, after which the park was named.
