Animal advocates have been working for years to free Tony, a Siberian-Bengal tiger who is being kept as an attraction at a truck stop in Grosse Tete, La. This week, they have renewed their efforts in the hope of seeing him finally moved to a sanctuary.
Controversy has been swirling around Tony for years over the conditions that he’s being kept in, and whether it’s legal for him to be there. His advocates have continued to argue that a truck stop, where he’s constantly surrounded by noise and diesel fumes, is no place for a tiger.
