A nine-year-old tribal boy was mauled to death by a tiger in Budhni forest in the district today, a Forest department official said.This is the second such incident in the forest, located around 100 kms away from the district headquarters, in the last 25 days. In the first incident, a child was attacked and killed by a tiger.
The boy, identified as Shekhar Parate, had gone to the forest to collect woods when he was attacked, said Sehore Conservator of Forests Manoj Argal.
"We have provided an immediate financial help of Rs 10,000 to the family members of the deceased. We will provide a compensation of Rs 4 lakh to them shortly," he said.
