Joey Hills and his family decided to have a little family fun Wednesday evening and took to the banks of Lake Storey with rods and reels.
Joey's girlfriend, Taylor Learned, came on the fishing trip. So did his sister, Hollie Hills, and her two children. Jamil is 4 years old and big sister Chloe is 6.
By 9:30 p.m. the little group was low on worms and needed flashlights. So Hollie and Jamil went back into town for supplies. Chloe, Taylor and Joey stayed behind, hoping to land one of those big Lake Storey catfish.
What happened next inspired a frightened 911 emergency call, much speculation on Illinois big cat population, a few Bigfoot jokes, and plenty of comments about 40-something women.
“Taylor told me she had heard something; I didn't believe her at first,” Joey said. “Then about twenty minutes later my sister had returned, she had gotten flashlights and worms.
