If legend (and local newspapers) has it, big cats have been wandering the wilds of Britain for centuries.
Could there be a giant predatory feline hiding in bushes in Milton Keynes, eyes glinting and teeth showing, ready to pounce?
A photograph of a big cat sighting appeared on the social networking site Twitter today, from Open University Chemist Dr James Bruce.
But it was a follow-up tweet from fellow OU academic Simon Kelly that alerted MKWeb to the danger, raising our threat level from purrrr to roar!
