UK SIGHTINGS: Newly discovered Government files reveal six-month investigation into big cats

They may be Britain’s most feared animals, but newly-unearthed records have revealed a six month government investigation into the Beast of Bodmin Moor and has proved it was far from a monster, rather just a large pussy cat.

The probe in 1995 into the Cornish beast and other unknown animals reported to have been roaming Britain found there was no ‘verifiable evidence’ of exotic cats loose in the UK.

Back in December last year, Gloucestershire tracker Frank Tunbridge believed he captured footage which showed a large, black cat prowling a field at night.

Mr Tunbridge said he received 64 reports of big cats in Gloucestershire in 2013.

In September this year, Richard Gough believed he saw two mysterious black animals in Yorkley.

The 45-year-old was walking his brother’s dog in woodland near Morris Close when he was spooked by two puma-like creatures around 7.30pm on Wednesday.

What do you think? Are big cats in the UK fact or fantasy?

  1. I saw a large black cat yesterday morning in somerset. It ran in front of my car with in a few meters, jumped over a large gate and ran into a field where it turned and stared at me. I have just bought a trial camera and am going to set it up at the spot.
